Dr. Burleson has been at the UConn Health Center since 1982, and was in the School of Dental Medicine's Department of Behavioral Sciences & Community Health until 1999, when he joined the School of Medicine and the Department of Community Medicine. He has served actively as a research design and statistics consultant for twenty-five years. Dr. Burleson has published in the fields of basic psychology and behavioral science, applied behavioral science, addiction treatment, and has acted as statistician in publications in basic biological sciences and clinical biological sciences.
