Dr. Mirza is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at UConn Health and the UConn School of Medicine.

She specializes in the management of patients with metabolic bone disease and osteoporosis, diabetes, thyroid and pituitary disorders, and women's health issues. After completing residency and working as a primary care physician for six years, she pursued fellowship in hypertension at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA, followed by women's health, and endocrinology and metabolism fellowships at the UConn School of Medicine. Her research interests include bone health and osteoporosis, gender biology and hypertension. Dr. Mirza's clinical experience and training provide her with special insight into women's health problems. She also actively teaches future physicians and is the director of the ambulatory medicine rotation for 3rd year medical students at the UConn School of Medicine.
