Kevin Kovatch, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist specializing in the evaluation and surgical treatment of complex head and neck disorders. He has advanced fellowship training in head and neck oncology, microvascular reconstruction, thyroid/parathyroid surgery, and transoral robotic surgery.
Dr. Kovatch’s clinical practice focuses on head and neck cancer (oral cavity, oropharynx, and larynx cancer), skin cancer, thyroid and parathyroid disease, salivary gland disease (including minimally invasive procedures/sialendoscopy), reconstructive surgery, and advanced sleep surgery (including Inspire).
Dr. Kovatch earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Michigan, followed by a fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction at Vanderbilt University. He also completed an NIH-funded research fellowship focused on translational and clinical head and neck cancer research and formal training in medical education through the University of Michigan’s Medical Education Scholars Program.
Dr. Kovatch holds the Adult Complex Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery (ACTPS) Focused Practice Designation from the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, recognizing his advanced expertise in this subspecialty area.
Dr. Kovatch is committed to guiding patients and their families through the challenges of a life-changing diagnosis and working alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure each patient receives the most comprehensive and personalized care possible. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kovatch is passionate about advancing the field of head and neck surgery through research, teaching, and innovation in surgical education.
