Dr. Faryal Mirza is Professor of Medicine, Clinical Director of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism and the Director for Osteoporosis Clinic at UConn Health. She is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents and fellows, and also serves as the Clerkship Director for the Ambulatory Medicine Clerkship, UConn School of Medicine, and as key clinical faculty for the endocrine fellowship program. She specializes in the management of patients with metabolic bone disease, osteoporosis, parathyroid disorders, diabetes, thyroid and pituitary disorders, and women's health issues. After completing residency, Dr. Mirza worked as a primary care physician for six years. She then pursued fellowship in hypertension at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA, followed by women's health, and endocrinology and metabolism fellowships at the UConn School of Medicine. Her research interests include bone health and osteoporosis, gender biology and hypertension. Dr. Mirza's clinical experience and training provide her with special insight into women's health problems.
