Brenton E. Nash, MDAssistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases

Dr. Nash graduated from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 2016. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in 2019. Following residency training, he spent time practicing as a hospitalist both as a direct-care provider and, then, as an academic hospitalist. As an academician, he served as an associate program director for the Internal Medicine residency at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. After time as a hospitalist, he decided to complete fellowship training in Infectious Diseases. He completed his fellowship training at the University of Connecticut from 2023-2025. He now serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine within the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

General Infectious Diseases
Dr. Nash has extensive teaching experience. He was recognized several times during his residency training for his excellence in clinical teaching. As an academic hospitalist, he was recognized during each year of his tenure as the inpatient educator of the year by the Internal Residency at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. He currently serves as a preceptor for the CLiC and CR courses at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
Dr. Nash has conducted research in medical education and has ongoing research in diagnostic stewardship.
Currently examining the rates of penicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus at UConn Health.
