Dr. Prakash is a highly accomplished physician with a unique background, shaping her into a compassionate and dedicated healthcare professional. She embarked on her medical journey at the GSVM Medical College in India, where she enthusiastically pursued her passion for medicine. She completed a Neurology Residency at St. Louis University, St. Louis, MO followed by a Movement Disorders fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. She then joined UConn Health as faculty. 

Dr. Prakash developed and directs a unique interdisciplinary Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus clinic. With her expertise in neuromodulation and advanced therapies for movement disorders, she also directs the Movement disorders advanced therapeutics clinic at UConn Health. Her commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration allows her to provide comprehensive and personalized care to each patient, ensuring the best possible outcomes. 

Beyond her medical achievements, Dr. Prakash is recognised for her exceptional humanistic qualities and patient advocacy. She places great emphasis on building strong relationships with her patients, understanding their unique needs, and empowering them to participate in their healthcare decisions actively. 

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Prakash is actively engaged in research and committed to making clnical trials available to our patient population. She is a member of many prestigious study groups within her field. Dr. Prakash actively contributes to the education and mentorship of future physicians in neurology, movement disorders, patient safety, and quality improvement.
